WOODEN HOUSE

Architectural competition "Wooden House": 3rd place. The residential home design concept is a simple compact prism reflecting maximum possible energy savings of the solution. The entire building has a fašade of battening made vertical. On the exterior gallery the boards create a railing, function as a decorative dividing fašade feature on the residential mass and as a railing in front of windows with a low sill. The boards also prevent a full view from the garden into the rooms. The battening, painted in grey, is attached to MFD fašade boards and stands in contrast to light wood. The house is designed with external galleries and has three apartments on every floor. The gallery is on the north side of the house and faces the street. It is the filter of street noise and weather impacts from the north. Access to the house is along a flat climb ramp leveling out the difference between the public road and the ground floor. In order to reduce the recessing of the underground floor to the greatest possible extent and to prevent humidity effects on the wood, the house is ôraisedö.
